New Icon, Sharing Scale Fingerings, Filtering Chords in Piano Companion for iOS

Posted on June 13, 2015 by songtive

It’s been awhile since our previous update for iOS, but we were working hard to bring you another set of great features. First of all, we are happy to announce that Piano Companion has changed an icon!

Secondly, that update is dedicated to scales and common chords mostly. Many of you were asking for alternative fingering for scales and ability to input custom fingering. Well, we decided to go further and added possibility to share fingering with other users. Everyone is able to vote/favorite other user fingerings (see #1).

You can input left and right hand fingering and Save it so other users could see them (see #2, #3, #4).

Common chords are displayed as small keyboard but you will be able to switch to note notation too.

Chords dictionary allows you to filter chords by triads, 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th chords and additionally we added new chords: add9, add11, add13.

Another Songtive update has just became available. One of the major feature in that update is ability to signup using your email; you don’t need to have Facebook, Google+ or Twitter account to start using Songtive2015-02-17_10-23-04
We added ability to create more than one section of the same section type and Songtive will use them randomly as variations. Take a look at the following song created with variational sections:

Opening up song details you can see the variational sections and another new feature for Songtive Web – styles, solo, drums preview:

And last but not least, we continue improving usability of Songtive. Here you are two useful features:

  1. We added realtime notifications (push notifications). If someone commented your song or remixed it, you will receive soundless notification about that.
  2. If you started creating large song and minimized or terminated app without save, you will be asked to continue your work after the next start of Songtive.

That’s all folks! Songtive for iOS could be download from Apple Store.

Song Remixes. Notifications.

Posted on January 17, 2015 by songtive

We are proud to introduce a new Songtive feature – Remixes. Starting from that update you will be able to take a song then change chords, styles or drum set and publish it. Let’s see how it works!

We are going to change a song All of Me. The original song contains only one style which plays song chords.

Let’s add a cello as another style.

Tap on “Save Remix” and your first remix is ready; check it out how it sounds.

Since our remix has been based on another song you will be able to navigate to that song by tapping on a button “inspired by”. You can even see all song remixes by tapping the icon at the top-right corner and hear how they sound.

Another major feature is notifications. If anyone commented or remixed your song you’ll receive a notification about that at the top-right corner. Tapping notification you will open the song which has been commented or remixed. Notification could be read in the Songtive Web too.
